Injectable breast augmentation has become increasingly popular, but more patients are also seeking help for lumps caused by inappropriate injection techniques or other factors.
At MYCLI, we use ultrasound to assess the lump carefully and propose an appropriate treatment plan.
There are two main treatment approaches, depending on the type of breast augmentation you previously had.
Lumps after fat transfer breast augmentation
Lumps after hyaluronic acid breast augmentation
In most cases, the filler can be dissolved with hyaluronidase, an enzyme that breaks down hyaluronic acid.
The key is to treat the lump while confirming exactly where the hyaluronic acid is located on imaging.
Blindly injecting the enzyme is unlikely to remove the lump effectively.
This is because a hyaluronic acid lump is often surrounded by a capsule, and the enzyme needs to be delivered inside that capsule to work.
At MYCLI, we use ultrasound during the procedure to guide treatment accurately.

06Suture removal, usually about one week after surgery
This varies depending on the cause of the lump, but pain usually lasts only a few days and can generally be controlled with oral medication.
After some time has passed, we recheck the area with ultrasound to evaluate its condition.
QCan a lump become serious if it is not removed?
Some lumps can calcify and gradually become harder over time, so we generally recommend removal when appropriate.
QI have a lump. Is it okay to massage it?
It is better to avoid massaging it.
If the contents of the lump leak into the surrounding tissue, inflammation can spread and may lead to foreign-body granuloma, which can cause additional lumps nearby.
